10 years later…

I loved the concept of this shoot. Mom and Dad wanted to celebrate their 10 year anniversary with a photo shoot in their wedding attire that included their 3 adorable children. I loved the idea! We had a lot of fun putting this together and the kids had a lot of fun too. More photos to come from this shoot…but here is the one that made front page of the Christmas card!

We just got back to Round Rock from our summer family vacation on Galveston Island. Excited about some different scenery than the Austin locations I am used to shooting at, I took the opportunity to do a beach shoot with my own two little ones. Having a photographer for a mother, they don’t always want to play model for me…but both enjoyed playing in the sand and hunting for seashells. It was a perfect morning on the beach!

When I bought these rompers for the studio a year ago, I kept envisioning them as vintage swimsuits….thus became the inspiration for this shoot. Even though it was Texas beaches, I wanted a Cape Cod feel to it. I love the way it turned out!

For some reason, when I am editing a shoot, a song lyric or scripture verse will pop in my head that seems to describe the way the shoot makes me feel. With this one, it was “Luckiest” by Ben Folds Five

I just had to post a couple photos of the little doll baby I have been editing this evening. I am a sucker for little “sprig” ponies on little girls….Can’t wait to show Mom and Dad the rest!

And now I am off to bed for an early morning drive to Bryan/College Station for a Bridal Portrait. Definitely going to be making a stop at Blue Baker and Sweet Eugene’s before heading back to Austin….

When you get two 4 year olds in a photo shoot, you know to expect the unexpected! These two kept me on my toes, but having a daughter exactly the same age, I was totally used to that! This was my 3rd year to document this family and I look forward to continuing to watch them grow over the years. We did several awesome wall pieces from this shoot including a 54 inch gallery wrap for the breakfast room and a gorgeous custom framed piece for Miss N’s room.

I wrapped up photographing round 2 of my “Holiday Specials” on Saturday. We had beautiful weather AND happy children… the perfect combination! I don’t usually post sneak peaks, but there were 3 sweet babies I just had to show a few photographs of! I can’t wait to edit these sessions and show the families all of the amazing shots we got.

This is the verse that Mom picked for Baby Callin’s birth announcements. I loved it! I feel the same way about my two precious angels.

Alissa and I have been friends since high school…went to Texas A&M together…and randomly wound up in the same child birth class when we were pregnant with our first ones. We both delivered within 24 hours of each other, so she became my late night texting friend (when I wasn’t catching up on early season’s of Grey’s Anatomy).

It’s funny how those early months of having a newborn are so exhausting, but I look back on those days with such fond memories. I never knew I was such a baby person until I had one! I would have 10 babies just to be pregnant and have a newborn over and over again. Too bad my husband says two girls is ENOUGH!

One of my girls favorite things to do when over at the studio is to rummage around in my camera room and play with all of my props and equipment. Miss C came to see me on her visit to Texas from Seattle. She was so full of big gummy smiles that she made my job very easy. I shot Mom and Dad’s wedding a few years back and I was so excited to meet their new (or 4 month old) addition. Thanks for letting me photograph her!

When we had family vacation at the beach this summer, of course I insisted on a photo shoot with my girls and their cousins. I had this vision of a sunset shot of them walking hand in hand….yadda, yadda, yadda. But what I got was even better! My girls had never been to the beach before, so it was a made dash to the water and sand. One of my favorite shots is the girls pretending to be seagulls as they fly out to the ocean. Love it! And priceless family memories. We did a framed wall grouping for Grandee’s house so she can see her granddaughters every day!

Check out this beautiful family and their new addition! What sweet children they both are! I can tell Miss A loves being a Big Sis and having her own real life baby doll to play with. My favorite detail may be Miss A’s Tinkerbell heels that she wore in the jumping series. Precious! Hope you all are getting some sleep:)

The F sisters were another group from my Matilda Jane Fashion Shoot. I fell in love with these girls when they were flower girls in a wedding I shot last Fall at the Plantation House. They are just as sweet as they look! I think these two country girls had fun playing fashion models for a day:)

The S kids participated in my Matilda Jane Fashion Shoot special…and these two children were so much fun to photograph! Miss C is such a ham for the camera and Mr. G was fun to chase around. He gave me a work out! I loved the converse shoes that mom picked out for the shoot. The one of the final products was an awesome Storyboard for their playroom, complete with Wild Sorbet frame.

This was a really special shoot for me! I have been photographing Mr. R since he was still in the womb and have documented his growth over his first year. This “day-in-life” session consisted of many of the special aspects of this little boy’s life, including his evening routine with his family and his special relationship with his dog. What a precious little baby Triston is! He was the perfect little subject for his newborn shoot…combine just the right amount of awake and asleep time. You just never know what you will get with babies.

It was so hard to pick which one to do for the wall piece with this one…so many great options! We finally decided on the one in Daddy’s hand. Good choice, Shannon!

The Esquell Family came in for their family portrait last month. What a sweet family! I always say, as a photographer, I justify not going to the gym because I chase kids and brides around all day.
