Just a few takes (and out-takes) from this years holiday shoot with my precious girls. Despite their being very uncooperative that day, we did manage to get some sweet shots.
I was fortunate enough to be there to photograph this sweet baby’s birth a few months back. I have helped this family document many of life’s precious moments including Mom and Dad’s wedding, portraits of their oldest son and the birth of their second son. Oone of the best parts about my job is getting to watch families grow over the years.
It was so fun planning this shoot with Cara. Not only is she a gorgeous bride, but she is so comfortable in front of the camera. She wanted an “Old Hollywood” vibe for the shoot, so we found the perfect Austin location to fit the bill. The second half of the shoot was with a little more Texas flair with boots and a western style bar. I love the way it turned out! Enjoy…
A new year brings a new crop of precious little newborns. I can’t get enough of these sweet little babies! Miss Sydney was as cute as can be…and so was Big Brother. He’s grown so much since his own newborn session 3 years ago.
Be filled with wonder…Be touched by peace…Believe in miracles. Merry Christmas to all and blessings in the coming year.
Round Rock was the location for this destination wedding couple, and I don’t think Trish and Steven could have asked for a more beautiful day. Everything was perfect for this perfect couple! I especially loved Trish’s veil and blue toenail polish! Thanks for allowing me to capture the story of your day!
Coordinating the perfect outfits for your portrait session can often be an overwhelming task! Gone are the days of everyone wearing white button downs with jeans…now the trend is to let each person dress to their personal taste, while still keeping coordinated and unified. It is also important to consider the style of your home and colors that will compliment your decor when you hang your wall pieces!
Greens and Blues are almost always a nice coordinating color to earth toned color schemes. If your home does not have a lot of color, brighter colors may be a good option to add some pop to your walls!
Here are a few important tips to keep your family looking hip and coordinated all at the same time.
Pick a color group to work around. For example, Earth Tones, Jewel Tones, Warm Reds and Browns, Cool Blues and Greens, etc.
Layer and add textures to your outfits! Scarfs, hats, hair accessories, or a fun necklace add a little interest without standing out too much within the group. A little pop of color goes a long way
Wear stylish shoes or boots…no white sneakers PLEASE!
Have well groomed or manicured nails and toes…you never know when you might have to take your shoes off!
Have at least a week old hair cut on men and boys.
Wear bold patterns on adults…save those for the kiddos
Get your hair cut the day before the shoot
Wear clothes that are too big or baggy
No chipped nail polish or crazy colors.
Below are some color combinations that may help in coordinating your family’s perfect outfit! Remember, planning is key! Please allow adequate time to pull your outfits together and purchase the necessary accessories (don’t forget the tights, shoes, and hair accessories!)
