I love planning parties ALMOST as much as I love photography. But when my soon to be 4 year old told me she wanted a Hello Kitty themed birthday party, I wasn’t so sure. Character parties aren’t really my thing. But I decided to embrace it…after all, Miss M only turns 4 once! And I decided that having a Hello Kitty theme didn’t necessarily mean I had to have a cute kitty face on everything. So I decided to go with plenty of pink and lots of kitty inspiration. Bows, hearts, and all things GIRLY…that was my plan of action.
Upon arrival, all girls picked out their own kitty ears (with bow, course!) and I painted their faces with whiskers.
Then, the girls did a craft of a “Hello” and “Goodbye” door knockers.
Following craft time, we played “Pin the Bow on Kitty” and had a Hello Kitty pinata filled with candy and kitty surprises.
Then it was tea party time! I kept the food simple and kid friendly…heart shaped sandwiches and pink lemonade with a bow on top.
The cake was amazing and really pulled in the theme of the party! And it tasted as good as it looked!!
All the girls took home their very own Hello Kitty pillow…homemade by Grami:)
After all was said and done, despite my initial hesitation to take on such a party…it ended up being my favorite children’s birthday party to plan thus far!
