The best part about being a photographer is getting to be a storyteller of  the lives of each family I work with.  I have watched this Mother-Daughter duo grow since their very beginning.  I have seen them grow and change…each time becoming more beautiful inside and out.  I love Miss Madaline’s crystal blue eyes and her sweet, yet sassy spirit.  She and her momma are always so fun to be around…whether there’s a camera in my hand or not.

{Gavin’s Baby Brother…}

Baby Liam was such a perfect little baby for his session with Big Brother Gavin.  It seems like just yesterday I was photographing Gavin’s newborn portraits!  It’s hard to believe how big he has gotten.  He is such a great big brother.  There is just something about a perfect round baby face that gets me every time.  Perfection!

{All You Need is Love…}

I have gotten to know Jenifer over the last few years while being the wedding photographer for both of Jen’s sisters…yes, that makes 3 daughters getting married in 3 years for this family!  I remember last summer at her sister’s wedding that she and Tyler had only been seeing each other a few months.  But when Tyler made the catch during garter toss,  everyone whooped and hollered saying he and Jenifer were next to get married.

I guess there is some truth to that tradition…because a few months later it was their turn to plan a wedding! I love this couple and how sweet they are with each other.  I really think they are a match made in heaven!  Can’t wait for their June wedding in Georgetown!

{Hello Kitty Birthday}

I love planning parties ALMOST as much as I love photography.  But when my soon to be 4 year old told me she wanted a Hello Kitty themed birthday party, I wasn’t so sure.  Character parties aren’t really my thing.  But I decided to embrace it…after all, Miss M only turns 4 once!  And I decided that having a  Hello Kitty theme didn’t necessarily mean I had to have a cute kitty face on everything.  So I decided to go with plenty of pink and lots of kitty inspiration.  Bows, hearts, and all things GIRLY…that was my plan of action.

Upon arrival, all girls picked out their own kitty ears (with bow, course!) and I painted their faces with whiskers.

Then, the girls did a craft of a “Hello” and “Goodbye” door knockers.

Following craft time, we played “Pin the Bow on Kitty” and had a Hello Kitty pinata filled with candy and kitty surprises.

Then it was tea party time!  I kept the food simple and kid friendly…heart shaped sandwiches and pink lemonade with a bow on top.

The cake was amazing and really pulled in the theme of the party!  And it tasted as good as it looked!!

All the girls took home their very own Hello Kitty pillow…homemade by Grami:)

After all was said and done, despite my initial hesitation to take on such a party…it ended up being my favorite children’s birthday party to plan thus far!

{Feels like Fall}

Fall is my favorite season!  The smell of pumpkin, falling leaves, and the sounds of a high school marching band are just some of the things I love about the season.  It’s also my favorite time for Family Portraits in the Austin area, because we actually get to have a glimpse at changing leaves and cooler weather.  Can’t wait to put away the tank tops and start pulling out the long sleeves!
